Neurodiversity-affirming approach

The workbook begins with identity, strengths, interests, relationships and conditions for participation. It considers the learner's experience of effort, recovery, sensory access, communication and wellbeing alongside observable outcomes.

Prompts encourage therapists to distinguish between reported information, direct observation and clinical inference.

Australian context

The workbook draws on the Disability Standards for Education 2005, national NCCD information and current Australian Government resources.

Because terminology, forms and procedures differ between states, territories and school sectors, the workbook can be used alongside the relevant school or education authority's local planning process.
